I love working with the Libby Langdon Solutions™ Furniture Arranger and use it on every space I design! The Furniture Arranger gives you the chance to try out all sorts of different furniture layouts without having to actually move all your furniture around (which is a total pain, not to mention exhausting!). I find myself discovering cool ways to arrange furniture that I probably never would have thought of without the board.
The Libby Langdon Solutions™ Furniture Arranger, a slightly larger version of the Libby Langdon Solutions™ Quick Planner, is a system that contains over 250 magnetic living room, dining, bedroom and game room furniture symbols (scaled to ¼” = 1 foot), an 8 ½ ”x11” dry erase magnetic grid layout board (with 1,344 square feet of planning space), a 6” ruler and a wet-erase marker pen. It is a user-friendly tool ideal for homeowners & design professionals looking to create amazing room plans in minutes!
The Furniture Arranger is created in ¼” scale, meaning that each ¼” (1 grid box) equals 1 foot on the magnetic grid layout board. You simply measure your room (or get the measurements of your room from your blueprints) and draw the dimensions onto the grid to get started! Professionally drawn ¼” scaled drawings and blueprints work too – simply place them on the grid, securing them in place with extra magnets. From there you can position the small furniture-shaped magnets in different layouts and move them around until you get a layout that you think will work best!

Almost any design is possible with the Furniture Arranger. You can create a new living room layout, re-design your bedroom, etc. Once a design is created, you can preserve it by photocopying the grid or scanning it into your computer. Changes – or brand new designs – can then be made in seconds.
When I’m designing a room for a client, I’m often times mixing furniture the client already has with new pieces I’ll purchase. The Furniture Arranger let’s me see where the existing items will fit, and what size the new items need to be BEFORE I shop for them. This is KEY for me as a designer (no sense in getting that big sofa you’ve been eyeing if it won’t fit in your room). I find it helpful to measure the existing pieces of furniture a client has and then match it up with a magnet that’s the same size on the board, plop it into place and I can see what will work around it!
